Virentina Care & Guarantee Terms

Care & Maintenance

Every Virentina piece is handmade by a master Italian artisan using natural materials selected for their beauty and durability. Like all things made by hand, they reward attentive care. The guidelines below will help you preserve your piece for years to come.

Please note that damage resulting from improper use, insufficient maintenance or failure to follow these guidelines may affect your guarantee coverage. For any questions, contact us at atelier@virentina.com.

Leather Goods

Handcrafted leather is a living material. It develops character over time and with use, this is part of its value, not a flaw.

Daily care

  • Keep leather away from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, heat sources and moisture.
  • If your piece gets wet, allow it to dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use a hairdryer or place it near a radiator.
  • Store in a dust bag or soft cloth when not in use.

Cleaning

  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
  • Avoid alcohol-based products, chemical solvents, bleach or abrasive materials.
  • For deeper cleaning, use a leather-specific conditioner. Test on a small hidden area first.

What to avoid

  • Prolonged contact with water, rain or humidity.
  • Storing in plastic bags or airtight containers, which can trap moisture.
  • Overfilling bags, which may distort the shape of the leather.

Mosaic

Roman micro mosaic and Tagliato Romano mosaic are among the most delicate and demanding of all Italian craft traditions. Handle with care.

Daily care

  • Keep mosaic pieces away from humidity, direct sunlight and extreme temperature changes.
  • Avoid placing heavy objects on mosaic surfaces.
  • For mosaic jewellery, remove before bathing, swimming or applying perfume or cosmetics.

Cleaning

  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For mosaic surfaces and art pieces, use a slightly damp cloth if needed. Dry immediately.
  • Never use abrasive cloths, chemical cleaners or steam.

What to avoid

  • Dropping or knocking mosaic pieces, which may dislodge individual tesserae.
  • Exposing to standing water or prolonged moisture.
  • Applying pressure directly to the mosaic surface.

Jewellery

Paolo Mangano's jewellery is crafted in precious metals and may incorporate mosaic, enamel or other artisan-applied finishes.

Daily care

  • Remove jewellery before bathing, swimming, exercising or applying perfume, cosmetics or household chemicals.
  • Store pieces individually in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box to prevent scratching.
  • Keep away from moisture and extreme temperatures.

Cleaning

  • Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth after each use.
  • For gold or silver pieces without mosaic or applied finishes, a soft jewellery cloth is appropriate.
  • Do not use ultrasonic cleaners, chemical dips or abrasive polishing cloths on pieces with mosaic or enamel elements.

Natural variations Some metals and finishes may develop a natural patina over time. This is a characteristic of handcrafted precious materials and does not constitute a defect. If you would like to restore the original finish, contact us and we will advise accordingly.

Woven Furniture and Objects

Stefano Paravani's pieces are crafted in rattan, midollino and cane, natural materials that have been used in Roman workshops since the post-war period. With proper care, they will last for generations.

Indoor use

  • Keep woven pieces away from direct heat sources such as radiators, fireplaces and underfloor heating vents.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may cause fading or brittleness over time.
  • Dust regularly with a soft brush or dry cloth.

Outdoor use For pieces used in outdoor or semi-outdoor environments such as terraces, gardens or covered loggias:

  • Protect from rain, frost and standing water. Bring indoors or cover during prolonged wet weather.
  • For coastal or poolside environments, rinse surfaces regularly with fresh water to prevent salt or chlorine build-up.
  • Store indoors or under a breathable cover during winter months or extended periods of non-use. Avoid fully waterproof, non-breathable covers which may trap moisture.

Cleaning

  • Clean with a soft cloth or soft brush and lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap.
  • Avoid pressure washers, bleach, harsh detergents or abrasive tools.
  • Allow to dry naturally and completely before storing or covering.

Cushions If cushions have been commissioned separately:

  • Store indoors or in a dry, ventilated space when not in use, particularly during rain or winter.
  • Address spills promptly and clean according to the textile care label.
  • Prolonged unprotected exposure to moisture or direct sunlight may compromise the fabric.

What to avoid

  • Dragging pieces across rough surfaces, which may damage the structure.
  • Placing excessive weight on arms or edges not designed to bear load.
  • Leaving pieces exposed to standing water for extended periods.
