Overview

Welcome to Virentina. The terms "we", "us" and "our" refer to Virentina, a project created and managed by Matteo Mosca Goretta, with operational headquarters at Via Salaria 1495, Rome, Italy. Contact: atelier@virentina.com.

Virentina is a curated platform connecting master Italian artisans with clients who recognise and value authentic craftsmanship. All products available through our platform are handmade by independent artisans based in Italy. Virentina acts as the seller of record for all transactions.

Virentina is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide our services to you.

The below terms and conditions, together with any policies referenced herein (these "Terms of Service" or "Terms") describe your rights and responsibilities when you use our services. Please read these Terms carefully. By visiting, interacting with or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use or access our services.

Section 1 – Access and Account

By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence.

To use our services, including browsing or purchasing products, you may be asked to provide information such as your name, email address, billing and shipping details. You represent and warrant that all information you provide is correct, current and complete.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You may not transfer, sell or assign your account to any other person.

Section 2 – Our Products

Virentina offers handmade products created by master Italian artisans. As each piece is made by hand, natural variations in colour, texture, finish and dimensions are to be expected and are considered part of the nature and value of artisan craftsmanship — not defects.

We have made every effort to represent our products accurately through photography and descriptions. Please note that colours may appear differently depending on your screen settings and device. Some product images may feature AI-enhanced lifestyle backgrounds. The products themselves are always photographed true to life.

All product descriptions are subject to change at any time at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time.

Section 3 – Orders and Commissions

When you place an order or submit a customisation request through Virentina, you are making an offer to purchase. Virentina reserves the right to accept or decline any order at its discretion. Your order is not accepted until Virentina confirms acceptance in writing.

The vast majority of Virentina products are made to order. Once an order is confirmed and production has begun, cancellation may not be possible. Please review your order carefully before submitting.

For bespoke or customised pieces, specific production timelines, materials and specifications will be confirmed via email following your request. Any changes to a commission after confirmation must be agreed in writing and may affect the production timeline and price.

In the event that we are unable to fulfil your order, we will notify you by email and issue a full refund.

Section 4 – Prices and Billing

All prices are displayed in Euros (EUR) unless otherwise stated. Prices do not include applicable taxes, shipping, handling, customs or import charges, unless expressly stated at checkout.

Prices are subject to change without notice. The price charged for a product will be the price confirmed at the time your order is accepted, as set out in your order confirmation email.

For products displayed with a "from" price, the final price will be confirmed following your customisation request and will depend on materials, size and complexity.

You agree to provide accurate and complete payment information. You represent and warrant that you are authorised to use the payment method provided and that charges will be honoured by your payment provider.

Section 5 – Production and Shipping

As most Virentina products are made to order, production timelines vary by product and artisan. Estimated production times are indicated on each product page and will be confirmed in your order confirmation email. You will receive a personal email update when your piece enters production and a second update when it ships.

All delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Virentina is not liable for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs processing or events outside our control.

Shipping costs and methods will be confirmed at checkout. International orders may be subject to customs duties and import taxes, which are the responsibility of the customer.

Once your order has been transferred to the carrier, risk of loss passes to you. All shipments are insured on your behalf during transit.

Section 6 – Returns, Refunds and Warranty

Returns, refunds and the applicable warranty are governed by our Return Policy, which forms part of these Terms of Service and can be viewed here [LINK].

In summary:

Bespoke and customised pieces are non-returnable, as each item is made specifically to your request, in accordance with EU Directive 2011/83.

Non-customised items may be returned within 14 days of receipt, subject to the conditions set out in our Return Policy.

All products are covered by a 24-month legal guarantee of conformity in accordance with Italian and EU consumer law (D.Lgs. 206/2005), covering manufacturing defects only.

Section 7 – Intellectual Property

All content on the Virentina platform, including text, images, photography, product descriptions, brand identity, logos and design, is owned by Virentina or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display or otherwise use any content from our platform without our prior written consent.

Artisan names, stories and biographies are published with the consent of each artisan and remain the intellectual property of Virentina for the purposes of the Virentina platform. All product photography and digital content created by Virentina is the exclusive property of Virentina.

Section 8 – Third-Party Links and Tools

Our platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of any third-party sites. If you choose to access third-party links, you do so at your own risk.

We may provide access to optional third-party tools as part of our services. Such tools are provided "as is" without any warranties or representations of any kind. We are not liable for any issues arising from your use of third-party tools.

Section 9 – Relationship with Shopify

Virentina is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide our services to you. All sales and purchases made through our platform are made directly with Virentina. Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of any transaction between you and Virentina, including any injury, damage or loss resulting from purchased products. You hereby release Shopify and its affiliates from all claims arising from your transactions with Virentina.

Section 10 – Privacy Policy

All personal information collected through our services is subject to our Privacy Policy [LINK]. By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

Section 11 – Feedback and Reviews

If you submit feedback, reviews or other content through our platform, you grant Virentina a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and publish such content for the purposes of operating, improving and promoting the platform.

You represent and warrant that any feedback you submit is accurate, your own and does not violate the rights of any third party.

Section 12 – Errors and Inaccuracies

We make every effort to ensure that information on our platform is accurate and up to date. However, errors may occasionally occur. We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions at any time without prior notice, including after an order has been submitted.

Section 13 – Prohibited Uses

You may access and use our services for lawful purposes only. You may not use our services to engage in any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful activity, to infringe intellectual property rights, to transmit unsolicited communications, or to interfere with the security or operation of our platform.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we determine that you have violated any part of these Terms.

Section 14 – Disclaimer of Warranties

Except as expressly stated by Virentina, our services and products are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that our services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.

Section 15 – Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Virentina, its partners, directors, employees and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive or consequential damages arising from your use of our services or products, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data or replacement costs.

Section 16 – Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Virentina, Shopify and their respective affiliates, officers, employees and agents from any losses, damages or claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your use of our services.

Section 17 – Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Italy. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rome, Italy.

Section 18 – Changes to Terms of Service

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of our services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
